While melding science and theology, Sister Ilia takes us on a journey through the cosmos as she shares the evolving philosophical, theological and scientific discoveries that are shaping our outlook of God and of nature and the potential impact that this information has on our traditional religious teachings and belief systems. Her theology is thought-provoking, challenging and refreshing; an opportunity to re-think our Christian faith in the light of scientific realities. With extensive knowledge and expertise in the fields of science and theology, she is uniquely poised to bring science and spirituality together in an integrative and meaningful way. In her presentations Delio guides us to an increasing awareness of Christianity as a religion of evolution and invite us to consider that, “we are on the cusp of an evolutionary breakthrough–one that requires our conscious participation as co-creative agents of love, midwives of the new creation”.
Ilia Delio, OSF, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Washington DC, currently holds the position of Josephine C. Connelly Endowed Chair in Theology at Villanova University. Richard Rohr at conferences sponsored by the Center for Action and Contemplation in Albuquerque, NM, and also serves on the faculty of Rohr’s Living School.
